The Board of Managers of Cube Hydro Partners announces the election of John Collins as President

Bethesda, M.D., June 26, 2017 – The Board of Managers of Cube Hydro Partners, LLC, announced today the following organizational changes:

  • Kristina Johnson, CEO and member of the Board, will transition to her new role as the 13th Chancellor of the State University of New York (SUNY), effective September 5, 2017. Johnson will continue as a Board Observer.
  • John Collins, Executive Vice President, has been elected President, effective August 23, 2017.

Since its founding in 2014 and under the strategic vision and leadership of Kristina Johnson, Cube has acquired 19 hydropower plants in the United States and invested hundreds of millions of dollars to optimize and upgrade the domestic generation of clean, renewable energy.

“Kristina has fostered a culture of innovation at Cube that has resulted in the company’s rapid growth from producing 21,000 MWh of electricity to 1.4 million MWh annually, or enough electricity to power approximately 140,000 homes,” said Sadek Wahba, Chairman of the Board.  “The Board appreciates Kristina’s substantial accomplishments and thanks her for her dedication and leadership.”

Mr. Wahba expressed the confidence of the Board in Johnson’s successor.  “John Collins has been working with Kristina on Cube Hydro since day One, and is an integral part of the Company’s success and dramatic growth to date.  He has broad experience in the energy industry, has been engaged in every aspect of Cube’s business, and has a strong track record of success.  He has the complete confidence and support of the Board of Managers, and we look forward to working with John and the Cube Hydro team.”
